The Founder of VedicSparsa , Prathibha Balan BAMS , MHA , LMT hails from Kerala , India the birthplace of ayurvedic establishments like Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala and Vaidyaratnam Oushadashala etc., She developed an early interest in medicine , health and wellness which led her to study at Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College to complete her Bachelors in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) . She immigrated to the United States of America in 2010 and pursued her love for ayurveda in multiple ways.

She has served as yoga and wellness advisor in Minneapolis and further took upon the role of Director of Interns at the Bodhananda Vedic Institute in Kalamazoo, MI. She also lectures about Ayurveda, healthy cooking, and skin care. She also is an entrepreneur , with her zeal to provideholistic ayurvedic wellness, she had opened India Veda in Grand Rapids, MI providing ayurvedic wellness consultancy, therapies , yoga and bodywork including shirodhara and others. After a break to provide care of her newborn daughter, she had completed her Masters in Health Administration from Rutgers university which has helped her to get ready to start thinking of establishing a venture to pursue her passion in ayurveda.

Her vision for VedicSparsa (literally translating to a Vedic touch) will be forged on providing customized and compassionate wellness care to staying true to the roots of Ayurveda. She is a people centric person and would like to connect on a one-to-one basis to her clientele to co-create the right balanced plan which would lead to wellness. On the personal front, Prathibha is also a trained in the Indian Classical forms of dance –Barathnatyam and Mohiniattam which she used to teach to a group of kids in Michigan. She is a loving mother of two kids – an eight-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter. She and her husband have a shared passion in food and travel and currently reside in Flower Mound, TX.
